Siri Upgrade: AI-Driven with Google Gemini

Apple’s long-awaited Siri upgrade could incorporate Google’s Gemini AI, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The update, originally delayed until 2026, is expected to introduce an AI-driven search tool as Apple seeks to close the gap with rivals in the AI space.

Bloomberg reports that Apple and Google have finalized an agreement for Siri to test Google’s AI models. If successful, the technology may expand into Safari and Spotlight, enhancing Apple’s search capabilities across the iPhone ecosystem.

Spotlight previously provided quick answers about popular figures, shows, and movies, but the rise of AI chatbots has expanded user expectations for instant, conversational responses. Apple’s planned upgrade aims to meet those demands.

The redesigned interface will reportedly combine text, multimedia, and local recommendations with AI-powered summarization. It may also integrate user data to provide personalized, voice-controlled navigation.
