Here are Apple’s top AI announcements from WWDC 2025

At its 2023 WWDC keynote, Apple emphasized bold advancements in artificial intelligence. The 2024 event, however, took a different turn. The focus moved away from Apple Intelligence toward enhancements in operating systems, services, and software, highlighted by a sleek new “Liquid Glass” design language and a revamped naming system.

Even so, AI still made its presence felt with several notable updates, including a sophisticated image analysis feature, a personalized workout coach, and a real-time translation tool.

Visual Intelligence
Visual Intelligence, Apple’s AI-based image analysis tool, can identify plants, pinpoint restaurants, or recognize clothing items. The latest iteration expands its reach by interacting with on-screen content. For example, when viewing a post in a social media feed, the tool can trigger an image search powered by Google Search, ChatGPT, and similar platforms. It will be available through the Control Center or a customized Action button starting with iOS 26 later this year.

Workout Buddy
This AI-powered fitness companion uses text-to-speech to deliver motivational prompts during exercise. It can highlight achievements like fastest mile times and provide updates on average heart rate to keep workouts engaging.

Live Translation
Backed by Apple Intelligence, the new live translation capability works across Messages, FaceTime, and phone calls. It translates spoken or written communication instantly into the user’s chosen language, streamlining real-time conversations.
